Led by Robert Gonzales
 

Sunshades Tint & Sound was founded by Robert Gonzales, an Austin-based installer and shop owner with more than 30 years of hands-on experience in automotive window film, mobile electronics, vehicle security, fabrication, and custom installation.
 

Robert’s background started in Austin’s automotive aftermarket industry and grew into a specialty shop focused on precision work for daily drivers, luxury vehicles, trucks, boats, motorcycles, EVs, and specialty builds.
 

That experience matters because modern vehicles are more complex than ever. Today’s installations require more than basic wiring or film application. They require understanding factory electronics, camera systems, sensors, trim panels, glass shape, vehicle communication networks, and how to add upgrades without making the vehicle feel aftermarket.

During COVID-19, Sunshades Tint & Sound repurposed its shop equipment to help the Austin community. Using the same CNC machines, laser cutters, acrylic benders, and design tools normally used for automotive fabrication, the shop produced more than 18,000 PETG face shields and acrylic counter stands for hospitals, dental offices, veterinary clinics, first responders, and agencies across the region.
